Prospect Lefferts Gardens

Called “the last affordable neighborhood next to the park” PLG, as it’s known locally, is a rich and textured neighborhood. It starts with the architecture: names like Tubby, Hedman, Parfitt, Morse and Hedman all left their design marks on the houses. You’ll be hard pressed to find an area with more diverse styles. From the classic Italianates on Rutland to the wood frame Victorians on Fennimore to the grand English Manors on Maple, there is something for everyone’s taste. A very diverse community, its residents are proud to call PLG home and it shows in their award winning flowered streets and strong neighborhood associations like the Lefferts Manor Association. This diversity also shows up in the local cuisine as dishes ranging from authentic Jerk Island Chicken (Golden Crust, 668 Flatbush) to market fresh, homemade quiches and pies (Pels Pies, 446 Rogers Ave.) and everything else imaginable is within an easy distance in this cozy neighborhood.

All this plus great transportation options along with location — nestled smack up against Prospect Park and the LeFrak Center at Lakeside — make Prospect-Lefferts Gardens an insider's treasure.
